A collaborative and interdisciplinary conference drawing on the professional, practical and personal experience of researchers, practitioners, and participants to explore and expand the diversity of Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes (CWTP) from a range of disciplines (literature, counselling & psychotherapy, neuropsychology, medicine, emotional geography, socio-spiritual approaches), to showcase relevant research and practice, assess the current picture of the field and find inspiring and robust ways forward for CWTP research and practice.

NB: The session – ‘Refugees Writing in Wales’ by Eric Charles Ngalle and ‘The Use of Creative Writing as an adjunct to self-management techniques on an inpatient Chronic Pain Management pilot study’ by Roshni Beeharry on Sunday have been replaced by
Ready or not, one day I shall die – and so will you! by Larry Butler and From Writing to Research – Lessons learned from poetry, the community and academia by Christina Thatcher.

Creative Bridges will take place on the 29th-30th July at Engineers House in Bristol. For a comprehensive travel guide, and more information about the venue, click here.
Engineer’s House will provide a hot/cold buffet lunch for conference delegates. Vegetarian options are always available and all other dietary requirements can be catered for.
Every conference delegate will receive a CPD certificate of attendance.
